About Us

Pack 2 is a very active Cub Scout group of about 100 1st - 5th grade boys. Most attend Doss Elementary or live in the Northwest Hills neighborhood of Austin, TX - but all are welcome!

We're based out of Northwest Hills United Methodist Church (all faiths welcome at our charter organization) in Austin, TX. We belong to the Armadillo District of the Capital Area Council within the Boy Scouts of America.

Meet Pack 2's leaders who are all adult volunteers and have scouts in the Pack.

The Pack is divided by grade into the following ranks: (click on the rank/grade for more info on each)

Arrow of light
Tigers - 1st Grade Wolves - 2nd Grade Bears - 3rd Grade Webelos - 4th Grade Arrow of Light - 5th Grade

Campout and Overnights

Our Pack prides itself in providing the scouts with many campouts and overnights within a 3 hour drive of Austin.  These allow the scouts to explore the world around them with some planned activities (ie hiking, fishing, or playing capture the flag) but also plenty of unstructured time.  Where possible, these are usually capped off with a ceremonial campfire where the scouts can sing campfire songs, performs skits, tell jokes, and roast marshmallows for smores. For the 2016-2017 school year, we have planned the following campouts and overnights:

Other Activities

For Thanksgiving and winter holidays, each den adopts a family from T. A. Brown Elementary School to provide family members with items on their wish list.

In January, we have a very vibrant Pinewood Derby race where scouts, family, and friends compete for speed as well as design (most creative, most patriotic, most scout-like).

Pack 2 leads off the Northwest Austin Civic Association’s 4th of July Parade on Far West Blvd.

If you have a boy in grades 1-5 who is not yet involved in Scouting and wants to have fun camping, hiking, exploring science and other fun stuff, please come check us out. We're always looking for new friends!
